Colloid, adhesive and release properties of nanoparticular ternary complexes between cationic and anionic polysaccharides and basic proteins like bone morphogenetic protein BMP-2
An adhesive delivery system for bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) is described. The BMP-2 delivery system bases on polyelectrolyte complex nanoparticles (PEC NP). Papain and chymotrypsin charged and sized similar to BMP-2 served as model proteins. BMP-2 showed slowest release kinetics within 14 days and lowest initial burst. BMP-2 released from PEC NP coatings revealed significant activity in myoblast cells.
