CYP61A1 is a sterol C-22 desaturase in dandruff-causing M. globosa.

Recombinant CYP61A1 was heterologously expressed and purified.

CYP61A1 demonstrated the type I binding spectra with 尾-sitosterol and campesterol.

The tight binding to antifungal azoles suggests that CYP61A1may be a therapeutic target.

Study of CYP61A1 leads to a better understanding P450 for fungal sterols biosynthesis.
