Density-dependent water use in carp polyculture: Impacts on production performance and water productivity

文摘
The optimum stocking density was 8000 fingerlings ha− 1. At optimum density, total and consumptive water use was 3.92 × 104 and 2.03 × 104 m3 ha− 1 180 d− 1 respectively. Evaporation and seepage loss contribute significantly to consumptive water use. At optimum density, 1 m3 of water produced 178 g of carp biomass. Low water exchange improves water quality, crop performance and water productivity.
