The endocannabinoid system is involved in regulation of voluntary locomotion. We studied 4 replicate lines of high runner (HR) mice bred for wheel exercise. Blood was collected during peak running on night 6 of wheel access. 2-AG and/or AEA levels differed between the sexes and between HR and control lines. Levels were also affected by wheel access (training effect) and acutely by activity.
