10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (DA) and melamine (MA) form non-covalently connected micelles (NCCMs) in aqueous solution.

Annealing of the DA/MA NCCMs at 65 °C leads to well-organized cocrystals.

Topochemical polymerization of the DA/MA cocrystals results in reversible thermochromism.
