The heat transfer was measured around vapor slugs at various gravity levels as they rose in a 6 mm tube.

The heat transfer mechanisms due to bubble passage were identified.

At low drift velocities, the primary heat transfer enhancement occurred due to oscillations within the vapor film.

At higher drift velocities, the heat transfer enhancement occurred in the bubble wake.
