Human threats from resource exploration and infrastructure construction to the Ramsar site were identified. An annual median loss rate of 532 ± 72 ha/yr was observed from 1988 to 2014. Wetland changes were affected primarily by aquaculture and petroleum industry. Protection effectiveness of SERS should be improved.
