Supercritical carbon dioxide and pressurized liquid extraction of valuable ingredients from Viburnum opulus pomace and berries and evaluation of product characteristics
Supercritical CO2 extraction was optimized for Viburnum opulus berries and pomace. 19.1 and 14.6% of oily extract isolated from washed and unwashed berry pomace. The oil consisted mainly of oleic and linoleic acids; it was rich in tocopherols. SFE-CO2 residues were consecutively extracted with pressurized liquids. Totals phenols and antioxidant capacity of extracts and residues were determined.
