Toddlers 20 months old learned a new label from a print or electronic book. All toddlers identified the labelled object in the book they were read. Generalization and transfer of the label occurred only in the print book condition. An older group of toddlers (26 months) generalized and transferred from the ebook. Transfer from the ebook was related to prior home media experiences.
