The effect of topography on arctic-alpine aboveground biomass and NDVI patterns

文摘
Topographic control behind biomass distribution was inspected with machine learning. BRT-models were used to test the effect of DEM-derived variables on AGB and NDVI. Topoclimatic variables, namely elevation and radiation, had the biggest influence. Topographic position and wetness showed minor influence on AGB and NDVI. Response curves of the NDVI models showed smoother response compared to AGB.
