Horseshoe chaos and topological entropy estimation in a palaeoclimate dynamical model

In this paper, a three-dimensional palaeoclimate dynamical model by Saltzman is revisited. We find that chaotic behavior displays in this three-dimensional dynamical system in numerical studies. To verify the chaoticity, we resort to Poincaré section and Poincaré map technique to present a computer assisted verification of existence of horseshoe chaos by virtue of topological horseshoe theory, and give an estimation of the topological entropy.
