Assessment of implemented electronic patient monitoring systems is critical to ensure system effectiveness and acceptance. In Mozambique, HIV patient monitoring systems facilitated reporting, patient tracking, and facility and patient management. Challenges included lack of national guidelines, variable system implementation, and resources for system functionality. National guidelines may help to harmonize, expand, and strengthen health information systems in low-resource settings.
