This study is to unravel the mechanism through which hTERT promotes cancer invasion.

hTERT induces cancer invasion via MMP-2, MMP-9 as well as cathepsin D.

hTERT could inhibit cancer invasion through modulating cathepsin D via EGR-1.

The first report on EGR-1 is regulated by hTERT in oral squamous cell carcinoma.
