Mesh based x-ray phase and scatter imaging is demonstrated using a large spot (100 µm) source and a coarse mesh. Mesh based imaging uses a readily obtained, low-cost woven mesh to produce phase contrast. Combinations of signal obtained from horizontal and vertical grid harmonics allows 2D phase contrast image reconstruction.
