The performance of the HilbertHuang transform for RS analysis is evaluated.

EEMD and NA-MEMD are studied as means for preventing mode mixing in RS signals.

We propose a number of parameters to assess mode mixing and select EEMD parameters.

A high resolution and concentrated EEMD-Kay-based Hilbert spectrum is proposed.

The Hilbert spectrum detects CAS more precisely than conventional TFDs.
