Trimipramine (TMP) is not readily biodegradable in the aquatic environment. UV photolysis of TMP is affected by concentration, pH, and temperature. 14 PTPs are produced from UV photolysis of TMP; their structures were discussed. Some PTPs are eliminated by the environmental bacteria in the biodegradation tests. QSAR results predicted some PTPs as eco-toxic.
