Computed tomography is important in appropriately diagnosing patients with third-degree atrioventricular block and second-degree atrioventricular block but not Wenckebach type
CT is important in diagnosing organic cardiac disease in 3rd and 2nd degree AVB. 36% patients with 3rd and 2nd degree AVB had organic cardiac diseases. Sensitivities to detect organic cardiac disease were greater in CT than TTE. TTE is not sufficient on its own to detect organic cardiac disease. CT or a combination of TTE and CT is required to detect organic cardiac disease.
