Farmers perceptions to scattered trees on wood-pastures were assessed in Romania. Mature trees were mostly appreciated for tangible values (shade, provisioning services). Old trees were appreciated for intangible values (history, age, beauty). Collapsed trees should be removed from pastures. Scattered and old trees are declining because of value mismatch and value conflicts.
