CPM occurs in disorders associated with rapid osmolar shifts. The trident and piglet signs on MRI are characteristic of CPM. Initial brain MRI may be unremarkable. In suspected cases of CPM, serial imaging is required. There are no radiologic or clinical data that can predict prognosis in CPM.
