Pentacyclic triterpenes were investigated in various species of Carlina genus.
The compounds were characterized by RP-HPLC-PDA, HR-APCI-MS and 1H NMR.
α- and β-Amyrin, lupeol, their acetate and triterpenic acid were found.
Carlina genus turned out to be a rich source of triterpenes.
