Maternal trans fat intake during pregnancy or lactation impairs memory and alters BDNF and TrkB levels in the hippocampus of adult offspring exposed to chronic mild stress
Maternal nutrition in first stages of life is related to development of future adult. TFA in gestation and lactation caused memory impairments regardless of stress exposure. SO/FO and HVF supplementation in gestation increased BDNF expression after CMS exposure. Trans fatty in gestation and lactation periods showed decreased TrkB expression. Type of dietary FA in brain development period changes FA incorporation in brain.
