The sewage organic loading rates increase affects the performance of subsurface constructed wetlands with ornamental plants. The Iris pseudacorus and Eichornia crassipes were negative affected by the increase sewage organic loading rates. Cyperus Papyrus and Tulbaghia violacea are recommended for subsurface constructed wetlands.
