We have developed a new turbocharged 2.5 1 24valve in-line six cylinder engine 1JZ-GTE. The 1JZ-GTE is modified with the Intelligent Variable Valve Timing (continuous wide range intake camshaft phasing control) system and the new high efficiency turbocharger (CT15B). It generates 50 % more engine torque at low engine speed, and decreases turbo time lag 50 % , as compared with the previous model. The new MARK II showed more than 17 % improvement in fuel economy.
