We assess the effect of turbulence spectral model parameters on wind turbine design loads.
Wind measurements at the Høvsøre site are used to quantify the Mann turbulence model parameters.
The measured turbulence parameters differ from the recommended values in IEC61400-1, ed.3.
We find a significant effect of turbulence model parameters on both extreme and fatigue design loads.
We conclude that case-specific turbulence model parameter values should be used.
