Unreported previously complexes of N-phenylanthranilic acid with lanthanide ions were obtained and characterized. The coordination of the metal ions to the ligands was proved. The thermal decomposition of the compounds was studied in nitrogen and air atmosphere. The influence of the different metal and used atmosphere on the thermal stability and decomposition path was confirmed. The gaseous products in nitrogen and air were identified by TG–FITR–MS.
