A residential Demand Side Management (DSM) under intermittent grid energy is proposed.

The DSM schedules the operation of temporary and permanent predictable loads.

The NSGA-II and a Fuzzy logic decision maker are applied to find the optimal schedule.

The DSM ensures great coordination between the grid, PV-battery backup, and the load.

Results show excellent performance and a high flexibility of the proposed algorithm.
