The objective of this study was (1) to provide a suitable intravenous injection dose of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) instead of Gram-negative bacterial infection for inducing a reversible immunoresponse state and (2) to examine the expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the uterus of rabbits under immunoresponse state. In the study, We firstly reported that (1) 0.5 mg/kg b.w. of LPS induce a reversible immunoresponse of female rabbit within 24 h, and (2) under the reversible immunoresponse state, the expression of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α in the uterus of rabbit was upregulated. (3) The significance of the study is to set up an animal model to explore the genital tract immuodefense under the reversible inflammatory state, especially in silent infection of reproductive tract.
