Ag-TiO2 − x was prepared via a photoreduction process followed by post-annealing. Post-annealing favors the formation of Schottky contact and oxygen vacancies. Ag-TiO2 − x has excellent activity in visible-light NO removal with good stability. Oxygen vacancies in Ag-TiO2 − x promote selective photoreduction of NO to N2. Oxygen vacancies inhibit the production of more toxic NO2.
