A hybrid self-adjusted mean value method for reliability-based design optimization using sufficient descent condition

A self-adjusted mean value (SMV) is developed based on the advanced mean value. A hybrid self-adjusted mean value (HSMV) is proposed using sufficient condition. Robustness and efficiency of SMV and HSMV are demonstrated by several examples. Proposed SMV and HSMV performed better than existing reliability methods.
