Retigabine is an antiepileptic drug acting by increasing potassium efflux.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is one of the best noninvasive methods to study cortical excitability and the effect of antiepileptic drugs.
In healthy subjects, a single dose of RTG alters cortical excitability, as measured with TMS, by increasing motor thresholds.
