A spatially varying actuation method is developed for distributed parameter systems. It is applied to reduce concentration polarisation in reverse osmosis channels. Enhanced mass transfer is achieved at membrane surface. Successive linearisations are used to approximate nonlinear system behaviour. Method enhances steady-state performance without requiring online measurement.
