CaF2–Bi2O3–P2O5–B2O3 glasses doped with Cr2O3 were crystallized by heat treatment.
Glass ceramic samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS and DTA data.
Optical absorption, FTIR, Raman and EPR studies were carried out on these glass ceramics.
XRD, DTA and SEM studies indicated that the samples contain different crystalline phases.
Studies indicated that part of Cr3 + ions is converted into Cr6 + ions that occupy the Td positions in ceramic matrix.
