Geomorphology as a first order control on the connectivity of riparian ecohydrology

We analyzed 30 years of stream flow, precipitation, and riparian greenness data. Principal components of greenness, wetness, & geomorphic metrics were interpreted. Valley morphometric variables significantly affected ecohydrological relationships. Floodplain curvature, which causes flow convergence, predicted EVI magnitude. Vegetation greenness depended only on wetness magnitude, not rain vs. flow source.
