A FEM-DBEM approach is proposed for crack growth simulation on a GE-AVIO engine.

A benchmark of LC vs. DC procedures is proposed showing respective advantages.

LC can predict SIFs, CGRs and paths with higher accuracy than DC.

LC allows a runtime decrease because resorting to a pure stress analysis.

LC accuracy is enhanced because BCs are continuously updated during propagation.

DC accuracy is limited because based on BCs with no update during propagation.
