Study of VIV flow characteristics for wake in initial branch using high speed PIV. Experiments cover a wide range of reduced velocities to study important trends. New insights on flow characteristics; e.g. cylinder vibration forms oblique jets. Oblique jets influence mean velocity, turbulence intensity, and vortex behavior.
