Evaluation of the vibration attenuation properties of an air-inflated cushion with two different heavy machinery seats in multi-axis vibration environments including jolts
The attenuation properties of seats were identified using a NN modeling approach. Seat performance was predicted for mining and forestry vehicle vibrations. The air-cushion improved the vibration attenuation of one seat but not the other. The performance of the air-inflated cushion depended on the subject’s sex and BMI. Air-inflated cushions are not universally suitable for all industrial seats.
