Effects of heat treatment on the structure and properties of 99.5Ge23Se67Sb10-0.5CsCl glass were investigated by using SEM, XRD, FTIR and Vickers hardness tester. It&rsquo;s found that the temperature of heat treatment is the key factor on the properties of glass. If the treatment temperature, < 583 K, the treatment time influence the structures and properties slightly, whereas, if T > 583 K, the effect will be significant as the treatment time increasing. The treatment process was optimized as 563 K/40 h, with which the glass keeps a high transmission (>60%), while, the Vickers hardness, reaching to 2172.28 Mpa, increases about 20% compared with that of original glass.
