Halloysite nanotubes with immobilized silver nanoparticles for anti-bacterial application

Ag nanoparticles are immobilized over the external surfaces of halloysite. Results in the formation of an efficient and environmentally benign nanocomposite. Exhibits plasmonic resonance in the visible spectral region. Bactericidal effect of HNTs-Ag indicates a role of plasmonic excitation of Ag NPs. Findings shed light on the anti-bacterial activity of the nanocomposites.
