Failures may impair WSN, but redundancy may be exploited to replace faulty nodes. Applications may have different perceptions of redundancy. Obstacles may reduce the area viewed by visual sensors, affecting redundancy. A mathematical model is proposed to compute redundancy in visual sensor networks. Adjustment of sensing coverage is also proposed to enhance redundancy and availability.
