This tutorial provides an overview of derivatization reactions and GC methods for the determination of PFCAs.
Besides, PFCAs were determined by GC–MS and LC–MS2, and results from both methods were comparatively analyzed.
Causes of false results are discussed for both GC and LC, and some advice is offered on how to avoid erroneous results.
Finally, relevant applications and the future perspectives for the GC determination of PFCAs are discussed.
