Fluorescence Sensor for Hg2+ and Fe3+ ions using 3,3′–Dihydroxybenzidine:α-Cyclodextrin Supramolecular Complex: Characterization, in-silico and Cell Imaging Study
1:1 inclusion complex is formed between DHB and α-CD. Molecular dynamic simulation, density functional theory (DFT) studies agreed well as per the experimental results. The probe exhibits high selectivity and sensitivity towards Hg2+ and Fe3+ ions. The nontoxicity of the probe makes an imaging agent for the detection of Hg2+ and Fe3+ in living cells.
