HMPP molecule undergoes solvatochromism and fluorescence quenching. Excited state dipole moment is greater than the ground state dipole moment. Effect of hydrogen bonding is more as compared to solvent polarizability. The fluorescence quenching of HMPP molecule follows the linear S-V relation. Influence of activation energy process is more as compared to material diffusion.
