Characterization of counter-rotating streamwise vortices in flat rectangular channel with one-sided wavy wall

Particle Image Velocimetry is used to study counter-rotating streamwise vortices. Vorticity ωzωz decreases downstream and increases with Reynolds number. Vortices gets closer downstream and smaller with increasing Reynolds number. Main direction of stretching orientated at 45° to the streamwise direction. Mixing increases (decreases) over favourable (flat and adverse) pressure gradients.
