CS-grafted MNPs were synthesized for their evaluation in demulsification effect. MNPs showed good demulsification performances under various conditions. Demulsification mechanism of CS-grafted MNPs was clarified. MNPs were still efficient even after 7 cycles under acidic and neutral conditions.
