This paper is an advanced numerical study of the green water phenomena caused by freak waves. The freak wave is generated in a completely nonlinear way based on the Peregrine breather solution. Hydroelastic effect during the green water process is considered through a fully coupled fluid-structure interaction method. Simulations of the freak wave impact on various deck structures are conducted, showing that elasticity is worthy of being considered.
