Optimal oxidation with nitric acid of biochar derived from pyrolysis of weeds and its application in removal of hazardous dye methylene blue from aqueous solution
Weeds-char was oxidized by nitric acid. More than two-fold increase in acidic sites was observed on its optimum oxidized. The effect of different parameters on the MB adsorption process was explored. The maximum MB sorption was found to increase fourfold than that of weeds-char. The optimum oxidized char can remove MB in water systems effectively.
