Spatiotemporal continuous datasets of cropping intensity in China during 1982–2013. An obvious increase in 1982–1999 and slightly decline in 2001–2013. Primary cropping intensity trend in 1982–1999: 1 to 2 in region A. Primary cropping intensity trends in 2001–2013: 2 to 1 in region A, B, C and 0 to 1 in region E. Reverse CI trend was due to reverse agri. Pop., rising mechanical power, positive policy.
