The fluorimetric reagent can react with formaldehyde at mild conditions, including room temperature and MeCN containing 5% HOAc.
The reaction between reagent and formaldehyde was finished within 4 min.
Fluorescent test papers loaded with this reagent were prepared, and successfully applied in the detection of formaldehyde qualitatively.
