Although great global production and consumption, Cu and Zn received less attention for their risks to aquatic wildlife. Data of exposure and toxic effects for eight metals in Tai Lake were obtained. Both risk quotients and joint probability methods were used for evaluation of ecological risk to aquatic organisms. Cu and Zn posed the greatest risks to aquatic organisms in comparison to other metals. Ecological risk of Cu and Zn was greater than previously thought.
