Traditional breeding is being used to develop herbicide-tolerant grain sorghum. Grain sorghum and shattercane (weedy Sorghum species) can interbreed. A risk-assessment model including crop-to-weed gene flow was developed. Crop and herbicide rotation will be important strategies for resistance management.
